Home!
I'm home. I haven't yet ventured over to my f-list but will be doing so very soon. Short version of the trip:

- No Gale Harold autograph. Blond isn't his best color but he's STILL smoking hot.
- Thousands of photos. THOUSANDS. Shouldn't take me forever to Photoshop though since lighting this year was excellent. [livejournal.com profile] wive, I tried to get lots of good Jason shots for you. Next time I'm taking a phone book to the breakfast and dessert parties for the guests to read just in case our group runs out of questions.
- For those Stargaters who know Mikey, you know he takes great photos of the many, many cons he attends but never has the time to process and share. He kindly agreed to allow me to copy his digital photos dating back to Gatecon in England this past year to prep and post. I have about 5.5 GB of his photos in addition to my own thousands. Oy.
- Even using my firewire connection, I expect tonight's photo transfer to take hours. :|
- [livejournal.com profile] jalabert, [livejournal.com profile] triciabyrne1978, [livejournal.com profile] katiedammit, [livejournal.com profile] moonshayde, [livejournal.com profile] janiekins, and [livejournal.com profile] selmak totally rock. Youse guys make going to Secaucus (pronounced Se-cawwww-cus) not a Bad Thing. :)
- Blisters on the bottom of your feet? Really not pleasant.

Yay! Really looking forward to seeing the pictures. I've been kind of blah, so nothing exciting in my posts. You didn't miss much from me. Still haven't posted about Chicago. Home with a wicked headache today - at least it's shifted to one side of my face instead of tow.
Mish: DeeJ -- Followed Me Home[identity profile] hsapiens.livejournal.com on November 7th, 2006 03:39 am (UTC)
Thanks. I started the photo transfer to my harddrive for Photoshopping and right now, 2 hours later, it's about 20% of the way through. :| The transfer will take all night. That means I won't even be able to look at any of it until tomorrow after work. *cries*

I have lots of pics from museums that I know no one but me cares about but I also have a ton of photos from the NYC Halloween parade in the Village. That was a total blast. I have a quazillion photos from the con since so many of my peeps weren't there. I'll try to get a selection of pics up ASAP, though I'm assuming that others are more on the ball and have already posted. (?) I haven't yet seen what any of them look like in Photoshop so I don't know how much, if any, processing they'll need. The con had lighting this year (yay!) so I'm hoping it'll mostly be me choosing pics, resizing, and slapping up at my site. *fingers crossed*

I hope your head feels better. Hurting on only one side sounds like a migraine to me and I know those are the just about the most misery a person can have and not be dead. I got my doctor to prescribe me some major, kick-ass painkiller in case I ever get one again but - knock wood - so far I haven't needed it.

*hugs*

Sorry to hear about the blisters.

And you rock, dear. For multiple reasons. Your coffee fetching ability, your wonderful picture taking, as well as your uploading of Mikey's pictures!

*hugs*

Glad you made it home safe!
Mish: Jack -- Phallic Crystals[identity profile] hsapiens.livejournal.com on November 7th, 2006 03:43 am (UTC)
Ah, the blisters are better. I got those before the con. Sitting on my ass for the last few days helped. Thanks again for dinner and the rides! *smooches*

I'm excited about the Mikey pictures. I'm hoping to convince him to let me post a bunch of his pics so that others can see them. I always wanted copies since he takes such good ones but thought I wasn't cool enough to get copies. Now that I know nobody gets them, maybe we can work out a system so that everyone can.

Wow -- how can be a whole year until we do this again? And how cool is our front row going to be?
[identity profile] triciabyrne1978.livejournal.com on November 7th, 2006 11:51 am (UTC)
I know. [livejournal.com profile] selmak and I were emailing back and forth at work yesterday and we both said how much the row is totally going to rock!

Which also means Creation might want to warn the actors to be prepared for shenanegans.

The fact that it's a whole year seems like FOREVER!

Who knows... maybe I'll have to find some reason to take a trip to Texas....
Mish: Stargate -- Antarctic Gate[identity profile] hsapiens.livejournal.com on November 7th, 2006 02:27 pm (UTC)
Lord - I'm glad Creation doesn't know because they'd never, ever get anyone to show up. Well, except for Teryl who seems to love audience participation. Not that I'd complain about 3 days with her but I'd like some gorgeous men with my gorgeous woman. :)

Yay! Texas, contrary to rumor, does have some beautiful spots and is worth visiting at least once in one's lifetime. I recommend late March/early April because the weather's typically gorgeous and the wildflowers are in full bloom. We're having a wet winter thus far so it promises to be a spectacular spring flowering. Not that I'm pushing the idea of Texas...

It was! I had a blast and now I just have to go through everything. I am so resenting the need to go back to work today rather than go through photos and get stuff posted. I just want to play some more. I'm greedy like that.
ext_2780[identity profile] aizjanika.livejournal.com on November 8th, 2006 02:56 am (UTC)
hehe I know exactly what you mean. It's not greedy, though, to want to focus on something that you find interesting and compelling and fun. *g* Hopefully you'll be able to get to it soon.
Mish: Janet -- Beauty[identity profile] hsapiens.livejournal.com on November 8th, 2006 12:05 pm (UTC)
:) Well, it feels greedy since I just had a whole week to play. Wanting another one seems a little like whining. Doesn't stop me from it but I realize to someone who hasn't had a vacation in a while it would sound a bit whiney.

Hey! I was actually thinking of you yesterday.
Glad to hear everything when okay and that you had a great time!

Ohh "Thousands of photos" I like that idea!
Can't wait to see your photos, the ones I already seen are very blurry.
I meet Mike at GateCon UK, I tried to get him to share too...LMAO Specially those when Steve Bacic took his t-shirt off. *cough*

Welcome back! *smooches*
Mish: Sam -- I'm Here for the Coffee[identity profile] hsapiens.livejournal.com on November 7th, 2006 02:56 pm (UTC)
Thanks for the welcome back. *smooches back*

Well, I have those Gatecon pics so if he got a shot of shirtless Steve I have it! I saw that he had pics of Steve and IMMEDIATELY asked if I could copy them. :) I didn't bother to see how many he had; 1 was enough to motivate me.

Jason is often somewhat blurry because he was moving a lot. I operate on the principle of "take a billion photos and the law of averages says that at least a few will be good" in photography. I know for certain that I have at least a couple of excellent photos where he was still enough that you can see all of him. He is sooooooo pretty and such a sweetheart but he isn't yet 100% comfortable in front of audiences, poor guy.

I'll shrink them down for posting but if there are any that you want in their full-sized glory you need only ask. Just to warn you, though -- the original files average about 3MB each. That's a LOT of Jason. ;-)
[identity profile] wive.livejournal.com on November 8th, 2006 11:28 am (UTC)
I only got this and it sucks! So hopefully Mike got better shot of him, cause he is drool worthy! LOL

Oh and I think your right about take as many....
(ps: looked at the pic's and left an answer in the other post)

*sigh* Lots and lots and lost ....of Jason. Hrmp... ;0)
I hope you didn't had a hard time looking at him....Bwhahah

HUGS!
Mish: Apollo -- Nekkid w/ Towel[identity profile] hsapiens.livejournal.com on November 8th, 2006 12:08 pm (UTC)
*stares* Yanno, that's a nice pic of his torso. Is this shirtless pic in conjunction with the spinning belt buckle of joy?

It has been a REAL sacrifice staring at Jason, his pretty eyes, the buttery soft t-shirt that clings to his sculpted torso, endless legs, and overall hunkiness. Yup. A real hardship. I hope you appreciate my sacrifices. ;-)

Thank you! I have no pics of Gale (boo! hiss!) but they were very strict about the photo thing and there's no way to sneak with my behemoth camera. I see in your LJ that you're going to NYC! YAY!!!!!!!!! You'll have a total blast, I know. I'm very excited for you. :)

I can't believe you'll be in the US and I won't get to meet you. :( Of course, I imagine you'll be mobbed by all the other LJ'ers who want to meet you. Still, I'd LOVE to meet you. Damn. Maybe I can convince Joe we just have to visit up there...Hmmm.

I suck a large quantity of rocks for not finding a way to put myself into your schedule. Sorry. :( Hopefully you'll have another trip up this way that isn't so con-centric, and you and I can actually hang out. :) And maybe by then I won't have this damned inconvenient office job. :)
Mish[identity profile] hsapiens.livejournal.com on November 8th, 2006 12:22 pm (UTC)
Nah -- I didn't get to see [livejournal.com profile] mcroft and [livejournal.com profile] immlass, either. :( I was going to call everyone on Tuesday and arrange dinner but my feet were killing me and I'd had so little sleep that I ended up back in Jersey and asleep before 8 p.m. That was when I realized that the reason my feet hurt so much was because I'd gotten blisters - big ones - on the bottoms of my feet. I need to arrange, I think, to come out a few days earlier next time and spend two weekends out there. I can do that if I have a place to crash for a couple of the days because even with staying in a Jersey hotel, it's expensive.
[identity profile] la-directora.livejournal.com on November 8th, 2006 03:54 pm (UTC)
Well...phooey. I wish I'd know that.

So, for your future reference, as long as you aren't allergic to cats (I've got three of them), you always have a free place to stay in Brooklyn. And that is also true if it's a trip where you've got a con and I'm busy at the office, and I'm basically handing you a set of keys to come and go as you please. It's also true if you bring Joe with you. (The current fold out sofa is a full-size futon. The soon-to-come new couch will be a full or queen size sofabed.)

Yay, yer home! :) I have company all this week, but we should try to get together soon, I want to hear every detail!!

I'm heading into the city today to show my book (it turned out great, thanks to you and Joe!! tahnkyouthankyouthankyou) to the folks at Mo Mong. Meg wants me to pick her up and take her with me, even though it should only take a few minutes. I think I'll head up early and go to Ikea. Anyway, my company will be gone over the weekend, so many next weekend or the one after that we can try getting together?

*HUGS* I hope you had a wonderful time!!

We'll stay in touch about getting together. The weekend after T-giving is the Hatshepsut Exhibit at the Kimbell. :) I can hardly wait.

Have a great time with your mom! I had a blast in NYC and will be burying myself in Photoshop from now until the end of time.

See? The whole reason I don't name names is because I ALWAYS forget to name people and I've completely failed to add you to the list of people who made the con rock. I'm sorry, hon, because it's a reflection of my Swiss cheese brain rather than reality. *sigh*

You're more than welcome for the invite. I hope it was as much fun for you as it was for me. I'm glad it was memorable for her. I remember how swoony I felt the first time I got to see Michael and I hope seeing Joe was similarly wonderful. Also? In retroscpect it's always the friends who "make" the con so much fun. *hugs back*
[identity profile] stacy-l.livejournal.com on November 9th, 2006 03:03 am (UTC)
Ah not to worry. I didn't expect you to include my name. We've only just met...well in person that is : D I am glad I helped make the con fun for you. : )

Oh yes the first time I met Michael I was by myself in LA. I went to Fan Odyssey and I was literally swooning but had no one to share that with. I'm so glad Becky was able to share her excitement with us. It's so fun to watch.

And lastly... I totally agree with your last statement. Friends make cons so much more fun and meeting people and making new friends is wonderful! *hugs back*
