Home!
I'm home. I haven't yet ventured over to my f-list but will be doing so very soon. Short version of the trip:

- No Gale Harold autograph. Blond isn't his best color but he's STILL smoking hot.
- Thousands of photos. THOUSANDS. Shouldn't take me forever to Photoshop though since lighting this year was excellent. [livejournal.com profile] wive, I tried to get lots of good Jason shots for you. Next time I'm taking a phone book to the breakfast and dessert parties for the guests to read just in case our group runs out of questions.
- For those Stargaters who know Mikey, you know he takes great photos of the many, many cons he attends but never has the time to process and share. He kindly agreed to allow me to copy his digital photos dating back to Gatecon in England this past year to prep and post. I have about 5.5 GB of his photos in addition to my own thousands. Oy.
- Even using my firewire connection, I expect tonight's photo transfer to take hours. :|
- [livejournal.com profile] jalabert, [livejournal.com profile] triciabyrne1978, [livejournal.com profile] katiedammit, [livejournal.com profile] moonshayde, [livejournal.com profile] janiekins, and [livejournal.com profile] selmak totally rock. Youse guys make going to Secaucus (pronounced Se-cawwww-cus) not a Bad Thing. :)
- Blisters on the bottom of your feet? Really not pleasant.

Nah -- I didn't get to see [livejournal.com profile] mcroft and [livejournal.com profile] immlass, either. :( I was going to call everyone on Tuesday and arrange dinner but my feet were killing me and I'd had so little sleep that I ended up back in Jersey and asleep before 8 p.m. That was when I realized that the reason my feet hurt so much was because I'd gotten blisters - big ones - on the bottoms of my feet. I need to arrange, I think, to come out a few days earlier next time and spend two weekends out there. I can do that if I have a place to crash for a couple of the days because even with staying in a Jersey hotel, it's expensive.

Well...phooey. I wish I'd know that.

So, for your future reference, as long as you aren't allergic to cats (I've got three of them), you always have a free place to stay in Brooklyn. And that is also true if it's a trip where you've got a con and I'm busy at the office, and I'm basically handing you a set of keys to come and go as you please. It's also true if you bring Joe with you. (The current fold out sofa is a full-size futon. The soon-to-come new couch will be a full or queen size sofabed.)

Thank you! Where in Brooklyn are you in relation to the Brooklyn Museum? I went to the Brooklyn Museum this time - excellent neolithic Egyptian stuff if that sort of thing rocks your boat - so maybe I wasn't as far away from you as I thought?

Also, walked around and saw the Grand Army Plaza (no pics because I was on achy feet, exhausted, and not thinking well) and the under renovation library. Had a bagel at a local breakfast joint that served organic coffee and organic milk/soymilk. My kind of place. :)

I will plan to take you up on this offer next year. Once I go to the con I'll go to the hotel because the days are very full and that's being a craptastic guest. I'd much rather spend money taking friends out for "thank you" dinners than on hotel fees. For the record? I adore cats. :) Thank you for your very generous offer! *hugs*
