Home!
I'm home. I haven't yet ventured over to my f-list but will be doing so very soon. Short version of the trip:

- No Gale Harold autograph. Blond isn't his best color but he's STILL smoking hot.
- Thousands of photos. THOUSANDS. Shouldn't take me forever to Photoshop though since lighting this year was excellent. [livejournal.com profile] wive, I tried to get lots of good Jason shots for you. Next time I'm taking a phone book to the breakfast and dessert parties for the guests to read just in case our group runs out of questions.
- For those Stargaters who know Mikey, you know he takes great photos of the many, many cons he attends but never has the time to process and share. He kindly agreed to allow me to copy his digital photos dating back to Gatecon in England this past year to prep and post. I have about 5.5 GB of his photos in addition to my own thousands. Oy.
- Even using my firewire connection, I expect tonight's photo transfer to take hours. :|
- [livejournal.com profile] jalabert, [livejournal.com profile] triciabyrne1978, [livejournal.com profile] katiedammit, [livejournal.com profile] moonshayde, [livejournal.com profile] janiekins, and [livejournal.com profile] selmak totally rock. Youse guys make going to Secaucus (pronounced Se-cawwww-cus) not a Bad Thing. :)
- Blisters on the bottom of your feet? Really not pleasant.

Welcome back, sweetie! :-)

Thank you! I have no pics of Gale (boo! hiss!) but they were very strict about the photo thing and there's no way to sneak with my behemoth camera. I see in your LJ that you're going to NYC! YAY!!!!!!!!! You'll have a total blast, I know. I'm very excited for you. :)

I can't believe you'll be in the US and I won't get to meet you. :( Of course, I imagine you'll be mobbed by all the other LJ'ers who want to meet you. Still, I'd LOVE to meet you. Damn. Maybe I can convince Joe we just have to visit up there...Hmmm.

OMG I really hope so! I've never been to NY in winter and I'm all excited about it... and Gale, off course! :-)

Aww...I would really love to meet you, too! :(( :(( :((
But hey, I'm sure we'll find a way to meet one day... never say never, right? ;-)

This is completely unrelated to your post but I just wanted to say that's a very HOT pic of Gale! *fans self excessively before swooning unceremoniously to the floor*

Eeehee...I completely agree! Gale was stunningly hot there. :-)

*swoons with you*

I think if Gale were the sort to court public favor, he would be well-advised to pay you to make pretty pics of him. But then, this opinion of mine will come as no surprise to you, I think. :)

[livejournal.com profile] paddies is very modest so I will brag on her. She is by far the most accomplished purveyor of Gale and Randy goodies on LJ. She makes the most swoon-inducing icons and runs a fabulous website. I have a billion icons by her.

Oh, you.

OK, I exaggerated. I have only maybe a half billion. ;)

Ah yes! I actually have a few of her icons now that you mention it! They're so pretty and HOT! : D

Oh yeah. Seriously hot. :)

I just know you're going to have a blast. It's a great city and it's made even better by Gale. I'll be interested in hearing what you think of the play.

I really hope so! :-)

I read the play and I can't say that I'm crazy about it...I guess I'll just try to enjoy "teh Gale" as much as I can... ;-)
Mish: Gale Harold -- Torso[identity profile] hsapiens.livejournal.com on November 8th, 2006 08:27 pm (UTC)
Er -- don't read this if you don't want to be "spoiled." Since you read the play, I hope I'm not guessing wrongly here.

The play strikes me as "Theatre" in the sense of being a bit...pretentious? (That might be lost in translation. Americans spell it, "theater," unless they're putting on airs in which case they might spell it "theatre." Sort of like a lot of shops try to invoke a sense of being quaint and cozy by spelling shop as, "shoppe.")

"Pretentious" is somewhat unfair because I think it's all about what Tennessee Williams found interesting rather than what an audience finds interesting. It's all about revelation instead of plot.

I will post a recap at some point soon, I hope. Essentially, Carla Gugino and Blythe Danner were both wonderful. It's very much a play about two women. I can't really say whether Gale was brilliant or not because he wasn't really given enough to work with. He's on stage a lot -- excellent for Gale watching -- but not given a lot of substance to work with -- bad for Gale talent appreciation.

I *am* happy, though, that Gale is off-Broadway in a major production with major stars. That'll look good on his body of work and I hope he parlays it into even better roles in the future.

I totally get what you mean and it's pretty much what I'm expecting anyway...I would have loved something with more humor in it, but I guess I shouldn't complain, Gale and all... ;))
