Thank you. Yes, smooth is the correct word because that's exactly how it's achieved. I got the technique from a tutorial by icon_ascension. Very useful. :)

I made that icon on my other computer so I don't have access to the *.psd file today. However, I will be at it tomorrow; I will happily tell you exactly how I did it then.

I particularly love the color changes you've done.

Even before I had the extreme honor of meeting Teryl the Amazing Human Being at a con, I thought she was one of the most beautiful women I'd ever seen -- and it's shots such as the one I used in the icon that made me think so. The source pic is here, in the event you're interested in playing with it. What I've ended up with is probably more of a base than an icon. I did all the color & lighting correcting but just couldn't bring myself to do much of anything else that would distract from her expression.

Your comment on the team icon is especially welcomed. First because, as you know, I adore your work and thus value your opinion. Secondarily, group shots are completely hit and miss for me because I'm still bumbling around, trying to figure out what makes a good "team" shot. Detail is something I can see and judge easily...but what replaces it when I lose the detail for the sake of a group shot? I'm still not certain and it's much harder for me to decide if I like something I made. That shot was particularly creative camera work and I wanted to see if it was icon-izable by me.

You did a gorgeous job and I like particularly how brilliant and colourful your icons are. Thanks so much for sharing ! I'm not sure yet but I'll choose between #17, 18 and 36 probably ;)

Hmmm...if you do decide that you want to adopt any Daniel icons from me, you're welcome to any you choose - obviously - but I don't think that these icons are necessarily the hottest ones of him that I've made. Not to make it more complicated, but please feel free if you would like to look through all of my Daniel icons in my Scrapbook if you want.

Working with Calvin & Hobbes is like working with Michael Shanks - the source material is so appealing it requires very little effort on my part!

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE! I recognize that gorgeous man in your comment! Goodness but he's fabulously gorgeous. Yanno, some men are so beautiful that you don't really have to do anything to make icons of them.

Please feel free to snag whatever you want. I appreciate your giving me credit - I like for people to be able to find me if they're so inclined - but I'm not anal about the need to be "credited." I make them to learn Photoshop and to amuse jalabert. OK, it's also absolutely no hardship to stare at KHC, MS, CJ, RSF, and company. If someone else enjoys the little pics, that's completely an unexpected and wonderful pleasure for me but the crediting bit isn't my motivator.

So, unless you're concerned about proper credit and want my opinion, I'm not about to go policing people's use of the little suckers. :) The comments and chance to meet fans I don't normally get to chat with is my payment in full. Thanks for commenting -- I really do appreciate it!
