Paddies! *hugs* I dearly love your comments but I don't want you to feel compelled. I know these aren't your fandoms. I am greedy enough to treasure it when you do. I just don't want you to feel obligated, hon. :)

Awww...no problem! If I have time, I always leave feedback on icons posted on my f-list, even if they aren't from my fandoms... and I know that you really appreciate and treasure feedback, so I do it with pleasure. ;-)

I'm actually surprised so many icons with text on them made it to the "honorable mention" portion of the competition. I still hate my text but I figure I'll never get better if I don't practice, so...the world is burdened with my texty icons anyway! Mwahahaha!

*grins*

Text is hard! But sometimes some icons or caps just scream for it...and the only thing you can do is add it and hope for the best... ;))

you do know that for every icon I end up with there are usually at least four other versions I threw away, don't you?

I KNOW. and I have lots of admiration for you, since you're actually capable of choosing just ONE version...I usually end out posting 348168503457 different versions from the same cap. How sad. :|

They were really hard to work with what with having color shifts and being middling quality scans. It was a challenge I enjoyed (after all, I chose to do it) but to have succeeded in turning them into acceptable icons? That's a victory to me.

You really did an excellent job with them! They're definitely some of my favorite ones..not just acceptable, they're good. :-)

I've been playing around with a bunch of different methods for messing with coloring. I suppose I'm playing around with everything, aren't I?

Eehee...that's the way to go. ;-)
And.. isn't the constant learning process totally fun? I think (besides working with pretty people/pictures) the neverending learning process and experimenting is the thing I really love about making icons. :-)

I attribute it in huge part to your taking the time to critique, suggest improvements, and give advice. I'm still trying to put all the stuff you taught me to use. I can't ever repay that debt of gratitude.

Awwwwwwwwwww...it was a pleasure, really. :-) And if you ever have I don't know...questions or you just want to ramble about icons...you know where to find me. :-)

It's not so hard when you're talking about my icons. There's normally only one version that's publishable.

different versions from the same cap. How sad
I disagree. I've seen sad posts by some icon makers where it's obviously the same crop of the same cap but done a little bluer and then a little redder...and so on. Or even using the same texture over and over and over and...You, madame, are no such iconner.

Instead, what I see in your posts is an inspiring scene and endless creativity in finding another cool approach. Your variations make *sense* to me. A different texture changes the entire mood, or a colorful and a b/w version, and so on. You don't offer 3 versions of an icon. You offer three excellent icons that happen to have the same original cap.

And.. isn't the constant learning process totally fun?
Absolutely! I prefer to be on the steep part of the learning curve, honestly. If I felt like I really knew what I was doing and there were no more surprise discoveries to be made, I'd probably never make another icon.

And if you ever have I don't know...questions or you just want to ramble about icons...you know where to find me
Very cool. I almost certainly will. Talking icons is fun.

Pfffft. I *so* don't believe you. ;-)

Awwwwwwwwww....OMG ego-stroke. :D:D:D Seriously though, you're way too nice...*loves*

Very true. It's kind of a strange thing for me... sometimes I feel like I actually know what I'm doing and sometimes I feel like I'm a total mess in need of serious training. Meh.

It is! :-)

Pfft! I'm calling it the way I see it. *shrug*

I'll try to take comfort that even the masters feel lost at times but I gotta say, you hide the "need of serious training" awfully well...

*hugs*
