From the wtf files...
K, a knitter of my acquaintance, found a couple o'links that beg to be shared.

- Choose between knit undies with penises (w/ or w/o balls) or a pair with a glory hole: Naughty Knitted Knickers.

- But wait! There's more! I'm told these are called balaclavas, though those normally have face openings: Condom heads? Fetish Wear? You decide!

Um, need I say, "not work safe?"

I think I'm finding this more disturbing because I literally (and I do mean literally, and not the way most people mean when they evoke the word "literally") put down my knitting to take a break and come check my friends page. Augh! (For the record, I was working on a nice, tame cable-knit hat.)

K divulged the source of her knowledge about these travesties: You Knit What??

I've been laughing for hours -- and I'm soooooo not a knitter.

Yeah, there is some really hideous stuff on that site. I looked through it for a while once, and got very, very disturbed.

An e-mail list I'm on revealed this gem today: Knitting for Goths. Cute.

I suppose it's only fair, seeing as how I subjected you to artificial limp penises, but that Goth shit is disturbing. Their preoccupation with death is disturbing to me, and I used to dig up old cemeteries for a living.

Wow, um, the first link...gotta itch.

The second one, oddly, I find more disturbing than the first. I'm somehow reminded of the crimson guards from Star Wars or that weird kid from Fat Albert.

Oh, definitely. The first is snicker-worthy but the second is a denial of identity. The weird guy on Fat Albert was obviously wearing one of these. Loved that cartoon but I never was very comfortable when he was on screen, even when I was a wee tot.
