Love how you make the images shine. The caption makes 17 a nice UST moment :D I think #33 is my favorite from the sg1 batch, just love the coloring on it. Great job on the backgrounds, too.

Where does the base of #32 come from? Is that an Outer Limits thing? Would be interesting to see the base for that to see where it came from.

#48 and #49 are VERY nice as well. Like what you did with both. I love #53 as well, fun to see them after I've seen the eps. I think I prefer the textless version.

Gacking a few for later use, shall credit in the tags. TY!

*HUGS* What an absolutely lovely comment! I'm always happy to hear from you even if it isn't telling me nice things but this is very kind of you. :)

That caption on the J/D still bugs me. I've gone through any number of fonts, sizes, colors, placements...oh well. :|

Yes, the base for #32 is Outer Limits. Excellent eye. :) It's from this lousy screen cap: Michael Shanks Online. I'm NOT dissing the site; I have yet to see this episode where it isn't faint and grainy. Maybe that's why they haven't released the episode on DVD? *grumble*

I'm sort of giving up on Torchwood icons for now. I made those caps but the quality of the source file is so poor (for obvious reasons) that I have great difficulty working with the images. Frustrating, honestly. Worse still is to think I've done something original and then see 5 versions done by others have already been posted. :|

I've only seen the first two episodes and I really must catch up because I've enjoyed it thus far. I got a little sidetracked by Teryl. And how pissy was I about having to work around the windows that have obviously never seen a proper cleaning in order to get a cap of Gwen and the girl snogging?!? Really! I expect a little clearer shot from a Russell T. Davies produced project. Hmph. ;-)

I don't think I've ever found anything off with your icons, just that one text bit in this batch. :D

The MS pic... Ours are bigger, but still not quite there (http://daniel.stargate-sg1.hu/photos/index.php?spgmGal=1995_TOL_Mary25). I'd kill for TOL on DVD to get Teryl's eps in good quality.

I made a batch of TW caps, we could compare quality and I could send you a zip if my stuff was better. Then again I prefer to cap to my own tastes, I'm sure you do, too. As for others making similar/same icons, there's always something diff you you differently, right? That's why I love to see variants and people using the same base, coz everybody thinks of something else. Even a tiny deviation can make a huge difference. Like the little red blinky on your Girl-Cam icon. Awesome. Quality of actual girl-kiss footage? Will have to rewatch, coz I've watched it twice, but I haven't paid attention to *that* acpect of it.

As for your other note... I contemplated getting up early to go to Circuit City at 5am, but decided against it when we drove by it the night before and people were sleeping in lawn chairs outside. Gift cards and online shopping will be the way for me this season for sure.

I believe you're more generous than I am. I almost always hate my text but I keep trying because I really love texty icons and I hope to have a "Eureka!" epiphany.

Your caps ARE bigger. I don't know why but it never occurred to me to go to Abydos Gate for MS caps. I wonder if the slow down on TOL DVDs is film quality?

I would LOVE to have your caps. I'm not as persnickety as I probably ought to be about making my own -- if I have a source of good ones. I go to a LOT of different sites for caps and, so far, I've been able to find what I want. Mostly. Torchwood was a different case; it hasn't been around long enough to generate a bunch of cap sites for me to surf. Not much choice but to make my own.

As for the differences, I suppose they're there. But when I see five icons with almost identical cropping and the image is clearer or the coloring better or the text is funnier...and all of them published before I have enough to warrant a post, well, there's not much point. There were a couple of icons I didn't even bother with because I'd seen it done already and done better. Particularly frustrating as I made my own caps rather than using the exact same source as everyone else. There's something about the show that makes it hard for me to icon. Not certain if it's the way it's filmed or lit or both, but so far, the show looks better moving than it does in stills.

Watching the scene, the dirty cell window isn't all that distracting. It's atmospheric. But in working with a still image, wanting to eke out as much detail as possible so that it "reads" immediately? It's very annoying. :\

I don't get people sleeping outside a store overnight. Maybe if they were paying me to take away a new computer. Maybe. Gift cards and online shopping are my haven. How in the world did I ever survive the season before Amazon?!?
