I admit, I chose the image because it was an interesting angle and because of the lips. Jessica Alba rightly gets lots of attention for her pouty lips but this actress, Valarie Rae Miller, is no slouch in the pucker department.

You know what's hysterical? You've pegged just about every single texture experiment.

#26: Cropping was a direct result of discussions regarding the importance of not chopping off the tops of people's heads. ;-) The coloring variably appeals to me - I like bright - and bugs me because yellow skin. I can mostly ignore the yellow since the whole thing is radioactive.
#30: Oh yay! iirc, that b/w came from a duotone experiment. It still doesn't glow like I want but I'm glad it passes muster.
#31: This is one of those photos that has been iconned to death and I hesitated to include it. The world really doesn't need another icon from this photo. fwiw, there's a texture in there, too, but I think it was set to "exclusion" to bring a tiny amount of oomph to the dull gray backdrop of a promo shot.
#32: Yes, I did use a texture set to pin light. That was the first one I experimented with after our texture discussion.
#34: Oh yeah, that's a texture and it's my attempt at not hiding the texture. I stil don't generally like the ones I do where I use a texture in a recognizable fashion but I left this in anyway.
#35: Yay! That's a total experiment for me compositionally. Glad it passed. :)
#36: Hee - can you tell these last two are froma series of crops I did from a single photo to try to decide which one was "best"? Instead of just making one icon, I now end up making a couple or more from the same pic. Bad for diversity but when the subject is an attractive man, I'm not really complaining.

I'm heartened that the ones you mentioned are all post-discussion, playing around icons. I take this to mean I got a little of what you were saying to me. Yay! Thank you! *molests*

-- a.why should I cover all that skin with pesky words, and
-- b.this leaves it open for interpretation.
But really? I was thinking what a shame it was not to get an Alec/Ben scene.

Is 16 is a photo manip? Well done, if so. Love 22

I suppose #16 is. My first photo manip! I didn't even mean to. That was just two lovely sides of the man and I wanted to do a split screen sort of thing but they overlapped a little too much and the separation I planned obscured too much of the musculature I wanted to highlight. I was thinking how cool it would be to have had a fight scene between Ben and Alec but really, I wasn't thinking of this as a manip. Huh.

Okay, I am here with criticism (though I love most of them just so it's said)

1&2; She kinda looks like she has a big hole right next to her eye. The coloring you've chosen really makes the 'imperfections' stand out. like right next to her right eye, and under her left one.

16 kinda looks like he's trying to have sex with himself! Lol, but I like it anyway. And Normal looks like a godlike person in 22, lol.

Hmmm...I'm at the office, which means I'm on the crappy, crappy monitor and I'm afraid I don't see it. (Note to self: order a new monitor and soon.) Is it a problem of oversharpening? Is the defect on her lower lid? Or below the eye entirely? I'll check again when I get home and see if I see what you're talking about when I'm on my spiffy monitor. If I can see it, I can correct it. Thank you. :)

#16 - Sometimes, I fear that I do not see the forest for the trees. It's all the more ironic because I am a huge fan of slash but I totally didn't see that before. *rolls eyes at self* That said? I'm perfectly happy to imagine Jensen Twins and it makes me happier with the icon.

Normal. The icon was certainly meant to make him look like that because that's how he sees himself. The text, though, sucks. I LOVE the way it's done in the icon you're using. I know that my texting skills are, well, minimal is a kind description. I'm so often tempted to put text on them even though I know I suck at it. BTW, your Normal icon is brilliant! I need to look harder through the caps I'm slowly amassing through the generosity of folks like kaleidoscopeday. I must have some quite decent Normal caps to use.

Wow! These are great! #24 - great cap. I love Original Cindy. She's just too funny. I can just hear her saying that. You do seem to use the same hues in your people icons. Shades of brown and orange, I think. Not a clue how you do it, but they are very good.

Original Cindy is a hoot. I'm constantly amazed to think that Fox is the network that broadcast this show. I'm currently pondering the theory that the reason there wasn't a 3rd season was because somebody at Fox finally watched the show and went, "wait! this show has a lesbian AND lefty politics? Oh, no way!"

I am very fond of shades of orange and brown for people. (Well, lightly applied shades. Cheeto orange never looks good. ;)) Those look the most "right" to my eye when I'm color correcting and I like their warmth. I tried some colorings outside my comfort zone and I'm not certain yet that I really like them but they are new to me, so... :)

These are so pretty. I don't know what you call it, but I love the effect you used on these, especially: 14, 17, 26, 28, & 39. *g*

Thank you! I think the technical term you're looking for is, "drama." ;-) You've got vibrant coloring, plays of extreme light/dark, and brilliant colors in that group. I'm fond of the bright colors myself.

I'm sorry; I just made the one Joshua icon. I love the character and the actor who played him but there didn't seem to be a lot of demand for him and my own icon real estate is pretty tight. I started another icon with him but it didn't go anywhere. :(
