I like it! It's a composite of a couple different images, no? I haven't tried composite work yet. The most I've done is slide one person over to get everyone into an icon.

The crispness factor is my Holy Grail, I admit. Maybe it's because I've been myopic since I was a wee tyke, maybe it's because I started this process as a means to learn how to improve my own photography...but I really want the pics to be clear and in focus. I know you have lots of excellent iconners on your f-list but if there's anything you've ever seen me do and you want to know how I did it, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm always happy to share, it's just that I assume my work is so basic that it's sort of self-evident how I did it. :)

[livejournal.com profile] pax89 did me a huge favor by writing out generally how she made the icon I'm using here - my all time fave Sam icon - and a similar Teal'c one that I adore. I've tried it and been very happy, even if I am still fixated on saturated color.

Actually that one is just good cropping..but I have done a few composites..mostly Atlantis city ones...I too use icon making as an outlet for my photo skills..since I don't have darkroom access..this is a way to feed my creative bug...and I may take you up on that offer if I can't figure it out on my own(I like to muddle through processes....I learn better that way)...can I add you to my f-list?...you can join the many other great iconners I have on there..hehe...catch ya later H!

Really? I'm not nearly as conversant with the SGA pics as I am with the SG-1 ones. I cannot claim any great skill as a photographer; in fact, it was my frustration with my photography that led me here to try to learn how to improve after the fact.

I completely understand figuring stuff out on your own. I've mostly done that myself but pax89 graciously helped me when I was trying to figure out how she got the effect I loved and dbw wrote a fabulous tutorial on how she gets the most astounding SGA caps when I asked about it. I always assume that anything I'm doing is really obvious because I'm not doing anything advanced. However, please don't hesitate to ask because I love to share. I'll probably share too much, down to the tutorial where I found whatever trick or style I used. ;)

Wait - we aren't on each others' f-list? *checks* Huh. I am too young to be having senior moments. I've friended you; feel free to friend me back if you so desire. :)
