Oh Canada
The closing ceremonies reminded me why I love Canada so much when they turned the malfunction from the Opening Ceremonies into humor. Canada has some of the most breath-taking scenery and Vancouver is my favorite city but the very best thing about Canada is its people. Gotta love a nation that can laugh at itself. If we had to lose both hockey gold medals, I'm glad it was to Canada. I can't think of a better nation to come in second to.

I'm looking forward to catching up with my television shows (I heart my DVR) and getting back on a more normal sleep schedule.

Did you love the giant moose and the table hockey players. So much fun.

If you have been watching on NBC you haven't seen the concert. 3/4 of it was pretty awesome.

Going to friend you - have no idea why I haven't before now :D

Yes! I did see those. I can't honestly claim to have enjoyed the sopranos who sang but everything else was lots of fun. Perhaps a little stereotypical but I think Canada proved that it's far more than mounties and moose. :) Congrats on the amazing number of gold medals, btw. Canada rocked!

Yes, I'm watching local news rather than the rest of the concert. Grrrrr. They promise to return once the local stuff is over.

We aren't friended? How in the world did that happen? I would have sworn we were. Huh. I'll just go and remedy that oversight right now. :)

And I need me some Canada icons.

I still have about 3 days worth of Olympics coverage I haven't even watched yet, including last night's ceremonies. I'll get caught up by the end of this week. But I have loved watching it. LOVE the Olympics. And Canada put on a very good one.

I love watching the Olympics, too. :D Sort of weird because I do not willingly watch sports any other time. And getting glimpses of my favorite city from time to time was tasty icing.

There was a warmth that seemed to permeate these games which made me love watching it all the more. :D

Absolutely. With the exception of border agents, whose job it is to find out when I'm leaving and to determine whether I'm carrying firearms (hey, I'm from Texas) and/or drugs, every Canadian I've had the pleasure of meeting has been incredibly warm and nice. That spirit infused these Games.
