On Being a Texan
Wooooooo hoooooooooo! *happy chair dance* Congratulations Astros! I'm no big-time sports fan but I'm thrilled for all us Houstonians. After a summer of sorrow and difficulty, we have something to cheer over.

Interesting juxtaposition to my impression that I'm not Texan enough for my company. My boss, grand-boss, and several other folk are in town for S.N.A.M.E. and first the boss wanted to arrange for everyone to attend a rodeo. I didn't know, offhand, where the closest rodeo this week is. Then today I had trouble coming up with a "Texas experience" restaurant. We ended up at the Rainbow Lodge. I was tempted to take out my Stetson for the dinner...but decided that perhaps the humor might not translate into German. One of these days I will have to break down and acquire a pair of cowboy boots.

Re: Does that mean...
Make it so, hu-mahn.

Of course, I'll have to shop for garishly colored boots since I am honor-bound to assault JL's New Yorker fashion sense with the latest in brightly colored duds. I bet I can find them in pink...

My eyes! My eyes!
omg...I now remember why it is I don't own any of these. That first pair was so hideous, I feared opening any of the other links.

I persevered, though, and I admit the 3rd link wasn't bad. Sadly, I wouldn't buy the pink or purple ones at that price -- not even my mission to bring color to JL's world will allow me to throw away $380 for footwear.

Hammond of Texas is a wise man.
