If you have a few minutes and like SG-1 icons...
Please consider voting in Challenge #6 over at [livejournal.com profile] sg1_lims. This week's theme was Landscapes and we got some phenomenal icons from it.

However, landscapes are even more of a personal taste issue than a pretty icon of a pretty person, so voting is more evenly divided amongst the entries. We have a lot of icons tied. If you can help us out, that would be great. :)

You do not have to be a comm member to vote; you do not have to have previously participated to vote. Voting consists of choosing 2 favorite icons and 2 least favorites, giving a short explanation of what about the icon you do or don't like.

Thank you! I appreciate it very much. It did help, even if one of the icons you voted against was mine. ;)

So many of them are simply amazing - it makes voting very tough indeed!

I know! As the entries came in, I would think, "Oh, that is going to be a Members' Choice Icon." Then another gorgeous icon would be entered and I'd think, "huh, guess that icon is going to have some competition." Then ANOTHER gorgeous icon would be entered and I'd think, "Huh." Then ANOTHER gorgeous icon would be entered and I was thinking, "Uh oh. Voting is going to be all over the place because there are too many mind-blowing icons."

One really nice thing about being a mod is that I not only get to vote for 2 faves but I also get to influence the 2 mods' choices. I often use that so that I have a 3rd "Fave" vote unless there's an icon that totally blows me away.

I am collecting all of the additional comments again for parceling out to makers so I copied all of yours into the voting cheat sheet. :) I'll be adding my own comments as well since I've been unable to get to the alternates post from LAST week and do my additional commenting.

To be honest, I didn't expect to have such a hard time with this one. I teeter-tottered like you wouldn't believe.

I never have the wherewithal to go to the alternates post and comment. Sometimes I'll sneak a peek, though. Like at yours last week - at least one of them would have gotten my vote. ;)

I never expected to have so many amazing icons entered. Landscapes are, I think, much harder than people icons. The crops are so much harder to find and there are so many more possibilities in coloring to consider when one isn't constrained by skin tones. Keeping faces recognizable and attractive definitely narrows down possible selections.

I thought, actually, we'd have a ton of skips, a bunch of "eh" entries, and a couple of stunning icons. I was totally wrong and I can't tell you how much that pleases me. :)

One of my favorite parts of LIMS is the alternates entry. It's really cool to see the icons people made, the variations they created while coming up with their entries, and which one was chosen for entering. (It's so easy to lose perspective.)

I really should have entered last week but I had an attack of nerves. I was away from home and the internet. I kept dithering over which icon to enter because there was something wrong with each of them. Since I couldn't sit there and stare at the icons and make a selection, I opted to just skip. *shrug* Live and learn.

I ended up not getting to add comments to my vote. :( The unfolding drama as each vote was cast of the vote ties, tie-breaker, another tie, etc. was time consuming. Beeej and I were trying to pick out Mods' Choices; both the identity and the number of Members' Choices determined our choices. It was an hour and a half of madness. :)
