69 Icons: SG-1, Dr. Who, Torchwood, John Barrowman
30 SG-1
20 Dr. Who
14 Torchwood (Spoilers through all of Season 1)
05 John Barrowman

I loved the penultimate episode of Torchwood. *sigh* It's Captain Jack Harkness who keeps me watching even when the show fails to live up to its potential; John Barrowman has magnetism to spare. This wasn't meant as a, "I ♥ John Barrowman," post, but I now realize that's what it has become.

#2 is one of my favorites. I'm glad it worked for you because it was definitely a compromise for me. If I had those mad text skillz, it would have said, "Daniel is serious about keeping Sam away from his chocolate" or "Daniel takes the safety of his chocolate stash seriously" but I just couldn't fit it in. :|

Thank you for the comment; I appreciate it!

It's interesting, if you had put the alternate texts I would have still liked the icon (Daniel+chocolate=OTP, just like Jack+beer=OTP and it will always be funny.) but somehow the version that you posted I like more. In part the... hmm... immediacy(?) of it? I don't think immediacy is the word I am looking for, but it will have to do. It's a lovely cap, the way his hand is grabbing the vest and he is looking to the side (not to mention the whole dressed for a mission and clutching a P-90) already gives the sense that he's got something in that pocket that someone else, presumably the person to the side, wants and he doesn't want to give. The arrow emphasizes the hand placement, and almost gives it a sense of movement. The words in the icon already give what he's got and the "mine mine mine" effect. So really what I'm trying to say is that personally, I think the icon is perfect as is because the other things you it wanted to say? Are already said by the icon.

um... I hope that wasn't too presumptuous of me... unsolicited opinion and all.

Unsolicited? Not in the least. I always, always welcome opinions whether they're positive or critical because it's one of the best ways for me to learn. A while back a begged for concrit and got some amazing help for which I'm truly grateful. I'm always open to new ideas, even if it's, "eh, this one didn't really work," or, "this could have been godd if only you'd...," and most especially, "for the love of all that is good, step away from the radioactive coloring!" ;-)

Brevity is, in my experience, key to making a memorable, punchy icon. Alas, brevity is soooooo not my forte. My first thought for verbiage always, always runs to the ridiculously long. *rolls eyes at self* I'm working on it but I constantly fear that my meaning has gotten cut along with the words. In this case, you have gotten EXACTLY what I hoped to convey so I'm really excited!

*HUGS*
