Too bad -- I'd like to see a "friendly-face" there. Not that I think there aren't 50 other friendly faces already there but I kind of know a few while most others are just icon-making gods at whose altars I burn incense. ;-)

I feel a little silly signing up for a LIMS that isn't even in one of my main fandoms but my icon beta, jalabert, challenged me several weeks ago to icon in a fandom that wasn't mine as a way of changing how I look at pics/icons. So...well, we'll see. I don't think I'll be around that long given the talent pool.

I'm so with you on the gods thing...if I tried I'm sure I could keep up with em but eh..RL is a little hectic at the moment and I'm having problems just making my regular base icon posts nevermind about getting all fancy with them...bleh...and don't sell yourself short...you're pretty damn good woman..heh..you're one of my icon gods...*bows to you and light incense*....*grin*

*hugs you* You know, if we keep burning incense for each other and inhaling...we're either going to be loopy or we'll end up with lung problems. I think it's important to recognize one's real life limits and you're undergoing some fairly major changes so I completely understand saying, "eh, not this time 'round." I'm still going to wish you were there, though. :)

I think I'm being realistic about my chances. It isn't meant as that sort of coy, "oh, I'm not so good," crap that is really meant to spur people to lavish compliments. Personally, that shit just annoys me. I've looked at the format, the people, what voters like. I think I'm likely to make it through the first round - gods I hope so - but after that it's a roll of the dice.

The style that gets rewarded in these events isn't one that comes naturally to me. I'm okay with that or I wouldn't have signed up. I can appreciate the style but it isn't what I see when I look at a cap. This is skill-building for me. Hopefully it won't be too "character strengthening." ;)

Partially, I want to expand what I can do and getting feedback as I try would be extremely helpful. The masters of this style dominated the results in the last round and they're returning for this one. I'm not running down my work. I feel as if I'm squarely in the middle: not the best and not the worst. I'm looking to move to the upper echelons of the middle with aspirations of going even further as I get experience.

It's all part of my plan to dominate the world, one pixel at a time! Bwahahahahaha!!!!!

You should vote, of course, for the icon you think is the best. I feel it's only fair to point out that you vote for both the best AND the worst in a batch. So perhaps promising to vote for me isn't the favor it seems at first glance. ;-)
