I got a very nice e-mail!
Those of you who write will be used to this sort of thing, so...ignore this post.

I don't release my pedestrian scribblings into the wild for a reason but I do write up recs for Stargate fanfic I've enjoyed at [livejournal.com profile] stargateficrec. This past month has been a bit challenging for me headache-wise so I've decided to take a break and haven't posted anything lately. Out of the blue, I received a very sweet e-mail from a woman telling me how much she liked my recs and saying many complimentary things.

Wow...what a lift that is! I mean this most sincerely -- thank you. You put a smile on my face.

I have long raved about your thoughtful musings on my stories (even if you can't recall ever writing them). You've brought that same sensibility to rec writing. You're exceptionally good at writing recommendations that turn "good reads" into "must-read-nows." Which isn't to say that you turn chaffe into wheat. You simply make the story sound that much more compelling by infusing it with your own enthusiasm.

More importantly, your recommendations are entertaining in and of themselves. They are witty and amusing and focused on making the reader drool, not unlike a great restaurant review. I am honored to have you recommend my stuff and I'm sure all the other beneficiaries of your recs are equally pleased.

Of course, if you repeat any of this I'll deny it. ;)

Eep! I wasn't fishing for more wonderful words so much as sharing a happy experience...but thank you. You know that I heart you something fierce.

If I'd realized I was casting out pearls back then, I most certainly would have gone back and made copies of it all before it was deleted with the old Hyacinth Gardens. :( Thanks, hun, you know I love your writing; how many fandoms have we been through now? I do miss being able to properly enthuse over a lovely new Sloots chapter (no, I'm not hinting) back in the day before we'd met face-to-face. (And in Cincinnati? What were we thinking?!?) That's the one big sucky part of meeting my heroes.

Of course, if you repeat any of this I'll deny it.

Yanno, before I got to the end I did wonder if maybe my mom or someone had stolen your password. I've copied this into my private journal entry where I store stuff to use against you at a future date. *smooches*

Yeah, I know I haven't commented on the last...3? 4?...chapters of Tabula Rasa. I haven't forgotten - but it sure is cool that you have to be nice 'til I do. ;-)
