*points to icon* Howdy to all the new people added to my f-list lately. I'd name everyone but I would invariably forget that someone wasn't "new" to my list and I worry about hurting people's feelings.

Howdy to all the people who are not new to my f-list. ;-) I am getting around to reading my f-list and responding to it. I promise.

I got this lovely icon from paddies and it's so perfect! I don't know how many other locales do it, but it's not uncommon around here to still do a little head dip in recognition of someone else. It's like we can't dip the hat brim any more, so it has become this little head dip. Out in smaller towns, the greeting is two fingers slightly waved over the steering wheel when you drive by someone you know. Here in the big city, a finger salute is likely to be different as we whiz past each other so I guess that's why we're still doing the head thing. Hey - there has to be compensation for being Texan and if it's Gale Harold smiling and doing a version of the local hello, I'll take it. :)

I revised my userpic's keywords last night so that I can find what I want more easily. Yes, I'm a little anal about such things but it was also a coping strategy for when too much of what is around me seems out of my control. I'd been putting it off because now just about every icon I used before last night has changed to my default. If only I could channel that impulse to, "eats healthy and makes herself exercise."
