Today has just dragged...
I hate days when it seems like the day will just. never. end. I've been off in my time estimates all day. By a lot. I was ready for lunch only to find it was 9 a.m. After lunch, I thought it must be time to leave for the day. It was 2:30. *sigh* Now I'm sleepy as if it's bedtime.

Maybe the world around me has been sped up to Mach 5 and I'm still at the old speed? 'Cause it feels as if I've been here f-o-r-e-v-e-r.

On the other hand, [livejournal.com profile] immlass and [livejournal.com profile] mcroft will be in town in a couple of weeks. Woot! If, yanno, I don't need a walker by then just to get around what with time going all wonky on me.

Oh, I know just how you feel. I'm busy (shouldn't be here) but things are still dragging. It's meeting-dread for me. So if time is this slow pre-meeting, I have no idea how I'll survive the meeting itself.

On the other hand, there are about 30 bottles of wine in the kitchen. :)

One thing I like about my current job is the lack of formal meetings. When I worked at the museum I had so much I needed to do and endless meetings took away precious time in which I could get stuff done. It hardly helped that the average meeting was several hours long and rarely was anything more than tangentially related to what I needed to do. Not that it wasn't exciting to watch a curator pitch a show she wanted to bring to the museum or to take part in an experimental project...just, yanno, there were so many other things that had deadlines like yesterday. I feel your pain. I do.

I am amused by the wine in the kitchen. When I was occasionally dragged to church as a kid, it was Baptist church where even communion was grape juice. ;-) So, is the wine for communion or to help the staff cope with the demon possessed woman, the Creator's calls, and endless meetings?

We are very much looking forward to it. Time cannot pass quickly enough between then & now.
