I'm so glad you caught the scribbled out "x" on Ba'al! I had a great time looking for the brushes to do that with but you just know Teal'c would have been annoyed to have to cross out the "x." One of the first ones of those I made was an Apophis and I "x"ed him out three times. After I'd done Ba'al, I realized that I should have scribbled out two of the tallies on Pops...except maybe Teal'c would get even more satisfaction from having killed Pops 3 times instead of just once? Hmmm...

Thank you for my lovely new icon! I took #36 (arctic gate) because I only use SG-1 Stargates and I'm having trouble finding nice ones.

Oh my - you're most certainly welcome. It's darned hard to make still gate icons that aren't boring. So much of its beauty comes, I think, from its motion. I tried for months to make gate icons but I'd never been satisfied and had given up. I made this one because I was organizing my icons in my LJ Scrapbook and I wanted a generic image of the gate to represent the SG-1 gallery. I grabbed my favorite screen cap of the Milky Way Gate and figured I'd doll it up slightly and slap it up.

I was pleasantly surprised when this image came out so that I liked it -- and that's the only reason I posted it! I never really intended it as an "icon" but as a placeholder. I'm very glad, now, that I posted it because you're right: good icons of the gate are rare. I'm pleased that you found this one worthy.

Thank you for the compliments. I like muted colors, too, but I admit that if I do a few muted ones then I'll have to do a slew of color rich ones.

I'd be happy to do requests. In fact, it's how I learn best because other people want things I might not think to do. Left to my own devices, I'll end up doing the same bust shot from a thousand different caps. *grin* I don't promise to do it well -- I'm still learning -- but I'll give it my best try. Tell me what you want and I'd be happy to give it a go. Oh! Though you must promise to let me know if there's something about it, even something small, that you want changed. I don't mind doing it and jalabert does it all the time. I think it helps me to develop an eye for composition.
