Heh, that actually was what I meant. I knew she'd been in Serenity. I was positing that the casting director, having had such success in picking the carcass of one dead sci fi show, thought him or her self clever to repeat the feat. I'm suggesting this because the actress lacks the charisma to carry the role. To be fair, I think it takes an actress who can rise above mediocre and inconsistent material, but Claudia Black has proven that it can be done by someone with enough talent.

I'm not denying the woman is pretty; the camera clearly loves her. I'm denying, based on what I see onscreen, that she has the ability to carry off this particular role convincingly. She may be extraordinarily attractive, but they're not selling her as the Temple Whore. They're selling her as the pivotal leader around whom the troops rally.
