Hurricanes and the Gulf Coast, Round 2 looks to be shaping up for this week's end. Joe is, of course, out of town. I'll be spending this evening and the next few days packing up, securing the exterior of the house, and hoping like hell that it's all a false alarm.

All in all, I'm glad that I got a car capable of packing both my dogs into for an evacuation.

...but seeing all the people trying to find each other post-Katrina has me prepping. I've reserved a room at Drury Inn in Irving, TX for myself and the dogs. If we need to evacuate, we'll leave Thursday night. I can always cancel the reservation should this thing give Houston a miss.

Joe has family up there so should it go beyond the usual "1 or 2 days away," I'll be hanging with family in the Dallas area.
