My plane tickets cost me $5 since I cashed in a wad of frequent flyer miles. Quite the savings over the nearly $400 it was going to cost otherwise. :)

And, yeah, that means I may just have to brave going to the Halloween parade with you. Either way, I'm with ya on Thursday for the museum stuff. :)

Very cool. I'd love the company at the Halloween parade, though I completely understand if you'd rather celebrate Samhain. If I'm going to have company, I might be convinced to peel myself out of bed early the next morning so that we can hit the Cloisters and then make the endless bus trip from Hell to the Met to ogle at the galleries. :) I wonder how far along they are with the new Egyptian galleries. If those are ready, I'd be hard pressed to choose what to do.

If it is feasible, maybe we could get together for dinner? I have to pick my destination soon-ish and make my hotel reservations. I like to plan it out ahead of time and pre-pay for the rooms because that saves a lot of money.

*looks horrified*
Who is the Pointer Professor? I had one for my one of my classes, he slummed at that non-point colleges to make money. :P
Speaking of bad hotels... when are you arriving? A group of us might do the Kate Hewlett play as it's rather inexpensive.... and that way the con doesn't end quite as soon.

Maybe next year it won't be in Secaucus? Back to East Rutherford, perhaps?

The prof's name is Cliff Rogers. He teaches military history. I'll be at the hotel starting Wednesday. On Thursday, I'll be in Manhattan. Where/when is the play? I don't know that I'll be able to do it but I'd like to have the option.

We'll pick up the train at secaucus and go from there. it's on 54th...
Nope Cliff wasn't my instructor. :)
As for the hotel, Creation's been contacted repeatedly by people I know, and they claim they're just moving the hotel to somewhere else in the NJ/NY area.
East rutherford hotel was ok, but the public bathrooms were horrendous. least Crowne Plaza keeps an eye on those.

I don't know 'bout the public restrooms as I only used my room. I remember the lighting *sucked* and I was glad to get away from it. But I'd rather have a hotel with lights AND elevators. But I'm weird that way, I suppose. ;)
I guess we'll know the truth when we hear whether or not they're pre-selling a con in 2008.

OTOH, it's always a let down when the hotel empties and there's nobody around to play with after the con. Having a play to look forward to would be very nice. And by now, I'm an expert on getting to and from the hotel to Manhattan. Although I have my doubts as to what sort of theater we're talking, given that the ticket is only $20. :|
I'm regretting my cheapness in spending my frequent flyer miles. :( I could have gotten a later flight out if I'd been willing to use twice as many. Ah well. It's spilt milk now.

What time is your flight out?

When do y'all fly out?

I'm amused to see that Cliff is now considered Sunday worthy.

Our rent is dirt cheap because the guy who owns the house can't be bothered to find out what the neighborhood can demand. We will just almost triple our monthly payment when we buy if we want to stay in this neighborhood. That puts a serious crimp in things like excessive travel budgets. Which I know will be worth it, but I do like to plan these 10 day visits to see friends, hunky Stargate actors, and fine art. Of course, what we *should* have been doing is saving it all up so that we'd have more options at this point.

You know what? Life wouldn't be any fun if we didn't spend some money on the fun things we like to do. Hunky Stargate actors are a must! ;-P

Except that I have nothing to say, except hello from the glorious and hot midwest.
That is all.

Brinks came back from the vet. He's nekkid, his teeth are gleaming, and he's whiny. And a bit skittish. He looks good, though, and we have a new and more powerful anti-fungal for his ears.
I've been playing with icons today but my icon fu is flat-lined. Hope that

Is the 30th in Lawrenceville (or stationed out of Lawrenceville) a possibility? I may be able to take time off fromwork, and we do have a guest room...

I'm looking at the website and I see that tickets to Kate Hewlett's play can be purchased in advance. Have y'all already bought your tickets or are you planning to buy them at the door? I'll be flying out two weeks from tomorrow (eeeeeee!) so I need to handle this pronto.

Which while fun, isn't probably as fun as where we will be. :)
