QaF Night
Just got back from a women's night out, wherein we introduced
demusetta (more on that in a bit) to the loveliness that is Gale Harold in QaF Episode 101. Show of hands: anyone surprised that she found him attractive, even before he started removing his clothes? Yeah, I thought not.
It was a night of discoveries:
1. I finally met
ciaracat in person. Considering that we have the same real life friends and go to the same parties and were both archaeologists in Texas, one might think we'd met in real life previously. Alas, no. So, the world didn't end which was kind of my worry. (In fact I am Officially NOT the Harbinger of Doom. Which, you know, was a relief to discover.)
2.
demusetta has an LJ!!! You folks I know in real life are fired for not telling me! (I always wanted to say that!) Some mumbledy years ago we instantly bonded in college over avoiding the socially challenged, creepy guy in our freshman orientation group. We were quite talented at standing back to back and sprawling to take up the entire sofa.
3. Subtitles which cannot be turned off due to the complex nature of remote controls are both good and bad. They ruin the jokes when they flash the line before the actor even says the line and it throws the timing off. OTOH, the descriptions like, "[passionate moaning]" made me laugh.
Thank you to the lovely and talented
nicoleallee for hosting us. I don't think your SIL is on LJ but it was nice to meet her, too. :) I'm looking forward to our next round!

I owe you a comment and I haven't forgotten that I want to finish commenting on the latest post of your icons. (And I completely missed your birthday -- though I have plans for a late surprise.) This coming weekend is a holiday for us so I'm planning to catch up with you then.

too good to me
Nope. Not possible. Especially when you add in such wonderful notes like that -- and you provided SUCH a huge boost to my making better icons. I find the feedback invaluable and when I get stuck I go back and re-read what you wrote to refresh my memory. I so adore you.
