Heroes and Icons and Textures -- Oh My!
Today was a day of goodies!
paddies posted icons *points to brand new, sparkly icon* full to the brim with pretty, pretty Brian and Justin, doing many wonderful and naughty things, and their Love That Shall Never Die -- AND
oxoniensis posted some new textures for making icons.
Really? That makes life good right there. :)

But wait! There's more! It gets better! It was Heroes night! I posted this originally as a response to
katie_m's post but figured what the hell? I should post vague and random thoughts in my own LJ, too. Hey - I have my own f-list to harass with this stuff. ;-)
* Simone was bo-ring. Very pretty and a waste of a seemingly talented actress but the character didn't have anything to do other than be a bone to be fought over by our alpha males. She was a plot device and little more. If we're going to trade her in for a woman with a real role, I'll count it as a win.
* While Ando himself does not interest me because he what he really needs is a slap upside the head, I think every funny guy could use a straight guy to play off of. I'm not certain Ando's loss bodes well. :| Hopefully, it will be of very short duration.
* Why in the world Claire would think the medical staff would believe that cockamamie story -- the truth! -- without a shred of "look! the world isn't only what you know!" evidence leaves me baffled. And Claire had better hope that Daddy Dearest assumes her brain "heals" her memory because otherwise she has chosen very unwisely.
* Claude! I weep over his apparent exit from the story. OMG - I completely adore Christopher Eccleston and I've been looking forward to seeing him every week. Like Ando, I'm really, really, really, really hoping he'll be dragged back into the story.
* I'm excited to see the renegade Heroes getting together to go after Daddy Dearest. This plot line looks promising. I've been wondering how he could get away with his antics with total impunity (special powers should help you out, damnit!) so seeing a day of reckoning looks good.
* Peter. I love Peter. He's Sylar without having to kill anyone. Yeah, he could become too strong which is a bad thing writing-wise but I have a weak spot for the Superman Hero type. And he has the Emo Bangs. *loves*
* Micah interests me but I admit they've failed to capture my imagination with DL and Niki/Jessica. I think they need to move Niki/Jessica along story-wise if they hope to make that part of the story work.
* Sylar scares the pea-stewey out of me. OK, I'm a wimp and that isn't hard to do but OMG he's creepy, creepy, creepy.
* Suresh (sp?), dearest, loveliest Suresh. It's really a good thing he's pretty because he is dumber than dirt. Gosh, what are the chances that Sylar just happened to find the same Hero the same day you and your brand new, previously unknown assistant did? The same man who, by the way, is suffering an awful headache not unlike those described by the victim? Eden's double identity has taught our dear boy nothing. :| He can't be Kasuf's son. He must have been adopted. *nods*

And, yanno, GIP! Let's hear it for GIP!
Sorry to make you brave Heroes spoilers. :| Totally didn't mean to do that. It's definitely a show to watch spoiler-free.

I was shouting at Mohinder to wise up. I mean, duh, dude. DUH.
I don't like Peter's actor, but I do still like Peter. It's a mouth thing. I've got a mouth prejudice - I loathed Anise on SG-1 for the strange way her actress moves her mouth (amongst other things). Anyway, I find it boggling that everyone jumped to the conclusion Peter was "bad" because he said he thought he caused the explosion. I mean, what? Perhaps he's going to go bad because he's got no one he can trust. FCOL, his own brother turned on him in half a second.
Daddy Bennett has always creeped me out and deserves a little comeuppance, if you ask me. Nothing he does is for the benefit of anyone but himself.

Mohinder is very pretty and giving dirt a run for dumb.
Huh -- Milo Vsomething is a very pretty man and I haven't noticed anything wonky with his mouth. I could see why Isaac jumped to the conclusion since he had reason to not like Peter but why everyone else has jumped to the conclusion? That's kind of weird.
I can't decide if Nathan is supposed to be a loving brother or a self-centered asshole. They play him each way, I think, and I guess it's a real credit to the actor that I don't just roll my eyes when he comes onscreen. I'm hoping he improves. Writing-wise.
Oh yes! He'd be incredibly creepy if Sylar weren't there to up the creep-factor. I wonder what he has on "The Haitian" and why a guy who otherwise seems to be a reasonable and good person is trailing around and doing his bidding. I hope they explore his story more -- and maybe even give him a name?

I'm afraid too many cool supers are going to get killed because of him. (Seriously, I've really taken quickly to all the ones they kill off and would rather have seen them more than some of the main ones we've got.). I'm also afraid that by the time he figures things out, Sylar will just torture him until he hands over THE LIST and then kill him. At least, though, they've always showed Mohinder as a bit daft and this isn't a sudden thing. Small favours. Heh.

It's true. I have a mouth prejudice. He goes all "Yo, Adrienne!" sometimes, and it bugs.

The Haitian is intriguing, yes. I actually wondered how Eden ended up being Bennett's lackey as well.
