[livejournal.com profile] mcroft sent me the link to this little beauty:

Not certain what it says that I thought it was real at first. Am I that gullible or is the merchandise for sale that crappy? Anyone remember the Gold Character Coins that they had to start giving out for free at the cons? *shudder* Did they ever make the Jack and Teal'c coins? Or did they cut their losses? Those coins followed the screen printed tiles that I never understood. Not that I wasn't tempted to redo the tub in extra-large "arm porn" Michael Shanks tiles - stops to think on that little scenario - but I think Joe would have objected.

I'd've thought the "Fully Functioning Wormhole" might have been the giveaway, but then I was reminded of [livejournal.com profile] kcarp's stay at the Precious Moments Best Western, next to the Precious Moments Theme Park and Victorian Wedding Island, and I realized that it probably wasn't.

OTOH, Ginger regularly rants about the catalog that offers replicas of Sauron's One Ring of pure evil as a wedding band.

Have you read some of the hyperbole in those god awful ads? A fully functioning wormhole is nothing to these folks. And the love being only an "interdimensional jump away" inscription? How touching. *sniffle* Brilliant parody. :)

RE: Precious Moments Theme Park and Victorian Wedding Island

As my brother** would say, "Now that's some what the fuckery right there." Holy Hannah (to continue the Stargate theme) but that's seriously messed in the head. In a tiny way it's too bad that I'm as happy with Joe as I am because the Precious Moments Wedding Chapel has got to be the best new addition to the, "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover" song. If that doesn't make him run, he's a zombie and he's going to eat your brain.

Wait - you're telling me there's a Sauron One Ring Wedding Band?!? Is there a link to this? Because that's...brilliant and evil and so messed up that it just has to have been dreamt up by the same people who thought that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would be a funny, spoofy comment on kid culture.

Geez, people really are dumber than I ever imagined. No wonder we have the Chimp in Chief.

**My brother, that is; not my other brother. Some day, I'll have to write up the tale of how I grew up an only child but am the eldest of six. SIX!! Geez, I feel like I'm part of a litter. :|

Inspired from the pages of J.R.R. Tolkien's immortal works The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings series, e- Wedding Bands is now an official distributor of the Copyrighted and Trademarked The One Ring of Power™

All rings measure approximately 2mm thick and make wonderful wedding bands! The One Ring™ is rounded inside and out like a comfort fit wedding band.

Also, don't sell yourself short, you are the pick of the litter. :)

And the best part? The wedding band even includes the original prose about "...and in the darkness bind them." *blink* *blink* Really? I haven't been this stumped since the Kitty Litter Cake.

Awww, you're too good to me. I would like to know how it is, for all the siblings I have crawling out of the woodwork, I have to be both the oldest AND the shortest. Why can't I have Yoda suddenly claiming kinship, yanno?

The last time I heard "fully functionional" was Data on ST:TNG to Tasha Yar..."I *am* fully functional..." just before they had sex. Then she told him, "It never happened."

I loved the "express ship" line, too...for a lovegate.

Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!

I'd forgotten all about that episode but now that you remind me of it, I'm dying laughing over the connection. The creator of this beauty has got to be a serious sci-fi fan and I bet none of it is incidental. Thanks for the laugh; I really needed it today!
