Paddies's B-Day & Icons: SG-1, SGA, BSG, P&P, Actors

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, [livejournal.com profile] paddies! Looking at your work always gives me a smile, which explains why you dominate my user pics. I hope your birthday has been an excellent one.

As a Stargate fan, I've learned that homage is the sincerest form of flattery, thus the rest of this post. I've been teaching myself more about Photoshop via tutorials and making icons. Here are some of the results.

The usual thing is to ask for comments and credit. I don't much care about credit so long as nobody claims them as their own work. Use as you see fit otherwise. Constructive criticism is welcome since that's the only way I'll improve.

43 Icons Total
- 26 Stargate SG-1
- 4 Stargate SG-1 Actors (Teryl Rothery, Amanda Tapping)
- 4 Stargate Atlantis
- 4 Battlestar Galactica (2003 version)
- 3 Pride & Prejudice (1995 BBC Version)
- 2 Colin Firth

~~**~~ Table Generator by [livejournal.com profile] 77words // Credits~~**~~

I have a lot more icons but posting this table was a pain because I kept changing my mind and added to the table after it was generated. I doubt I'll be posting this way again. If you're bored, I stashed my icons in my LJ Scrapbook. I had a lot of fun with Teal'c's Tally of Dead, False Gods. He strikes me as a guy who would keep count.

Not everything in my Scrapbook is snag-able as I made many for [livejournal.com profile] jalabert only. Those galleries/icons are labeled as, "not shareable," so please respect that. Otherwise, they're fair game.

Thank you for the compliment! That icon was one I made a long time ago so I had to open up the old file to see what I did. The effect is surprisingly easy:

7-9. Text Layers
6. Brush (the floral thing on the left) in #f5f675, Color Dodge at 73% opacity
5. Texture below, by [livejournal.com profile] colorfilter, Rotated 90 degrees counter clockwise. Overlay at 78% opacity and erase parts over Jack & Hathor.
4. Hue/Saturation (hue = 0 / saturation = +2 / lightness = 0)
3. Brightness/Contrast (brightness= 0 / contrast = +9)
2. Blue Exclusion Layer (#120478) at 19% opacity
1. Base (cropped, sharpened, smoothed as needed)

Texture used:

I've since reorganized my brushes and I'm not certain what I've done with it so I can't link to it. Sorry.
