BSG 3.01: "Occupation/Precipice"

To borrow a phrase from Stargate...Holy Hannah! I wasn't much fond of the last 10? minutes for the season ender for S2 but I trusted the writers enough to know that how S3 opened would decide for me whether I ultimately thought the weird ending for S2 was good or not.

Some things I'm having a little bit of trouble with, still, but oh my god. That is so the way to open a season. So many very interesting references to current events but all twisted in a way I'd never expect to see on American television. I'll write more when I've watched it again and can wrap my brain around the two hours of dark goodness. Holy Hannah!

*hugs beloved and bedraggled Stargate* So sad to say, but if you want your audience to understand why it's imperative to fight the soul-crushing peril that the Ori theoretically are, THIS is the way to do it.

This is totally irrelevant, but I've just realized my friends page on LJ hasn't been showing your entries for a few weeks now (not sure how long, as I've been crazy busy).

Hahahahahahahahaha! I'm sorry it wasn't working but I'm glad for it in a tiny way because I got to see THAT icon. Love it!

And, of course, it's seemingly solved so that's cool. If you ever want another round of M.A.D., just let me know. ;-)

Oh, that icon is by [livejournal.com profile] _tayler or an LJ user called _tayler if I've messed up the LJ code there. She's AWESOME! I have about 15 of hers. :D

Oooooooo! Shiny! Thanks for that lead. [livejournal.com profile] _tayler makes funny, very clean icons. (Clean referring to style, not content.) I noticed that (he?/she?) posts over at [livejournal.com profile] retro_icons and promptly joined that community. Lots of gorgeous work over there.

Oh, thank you! Somehow I missed retro-icons! This is like a buffet of great icons!

Isn't it, though? I was giddy to find the community. That's an aesthetic I didn't yet have represented in my icon friends. I'm a sucker for those 50s graphics with snarky verbiage. I'm also a fan of a lot of "classic" stars, so it's always nice to see Audrey Hepburn and Robert Redford pop up on a page of icon posts.
