Day 01 - A show that should never have been canceled: Firefly
Day 02 - A show that you wish more people were watching: In Plain Sight
Day 03 - Your favorite new show (aired this TV season): {White Collar & The Vampire Diaries are pretty but shallow; Royal Pains is shallow but pretty}
Day 04 - Your favorite show ever: I'm not certain I need to explain what I love about these shows. It's kind of obvious, yes?

Babylon 5. Complex storyline, building towards the great war. Seasons of set-up and payoff; mysteries presented and answered. The uncertainty of whether the show would have a fifth season distorted the war timeline but that doesn't change that the series itself is made of awesome.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Joss Whedon writing. Excellent ensemble cast. Funny. Heart breaking. Clever. No re-set at the end of each episode.

Stargate SG-1. This surprises no one, I assume. :) I have sort of a personal connection to the characters of this show. As an archaeologist, I obviously identify with Daniel on those occasions when he's being an archaeologist. I have a pretty, blonde cousin who's a hotshot pilot in the Air Force and an uncle who was a hotshot pilot in the Navy. No real connection to an alien. Sadly.

I especially love the early seasons when non-violence was always the answer and resorting to violence first brought failure. I thought it was a refreshing outlook for a show involving the U.S. military.

Firefly: Only one season but what's there is perfect.

Queer As Folk: Maybe this one needs explanation? The last season was almost entirely garbage and the ending still enrages many fans. QaF was on the forefront of the change in societal attitudes here in the States towards gays and lesbians. I don't know how much credit it can really claim given the hundreds and thousands of people were working every day for years for equality and change -- but it put a face the viewers knew and loved on bashing, homophobia, institutionalized prejudice, pride, "conversions," and flying your own freak flag.

Farscape. I'm cheating a little here because I haven't yet watched all of my DVDs. What I've watched, though, I love and I've seen the end of the show which is heart-breaking and good. The chemistry between Crichton and Aeryn is explosive. They just might be the hottest het couple ever on television.

Supernatural. Honestly, I'm most in love with Season 3 & 4 and with the premise of Season 5. But re-watching the series from the beginning, I see a lot more breadcrumbs being dropped as the storyline built up to the Apocalypse story line that I thought was sweeping, grand drama; it was refreshing and unlike anything else on television. Disappointing that it didn't pan out as well and that the pacing seemed off. Not only home to much gorgeous eye-candy but it's eye-candy that can act so it's doubly pleasurable to watch. This would have been mentioned sooner but the gender issues trouble me and I haven' yet made my peace with them.

Other shows I've really been enjoying but haven't seen all of: The Tudors, Six Feet Under, Nip/Tuck, True Blood, and Sports Night.
